Der Sportatlas listet sämtliche über Fachsportverbände organisierte Sportangebote im Kreisgebiet auf. Er ist nach den Sportangeboten in der jeweiligen Kommune geordnet und bietet so eine gute erste Übersicht.
Die Informationen und Sportarten der 442 Vereine wurden neben Deutsch auch in Englisch und Französisch verfasst, so dass sich auch nicht-deutschsprachige Sportinteressierte schnell zurechtfinden und bei Bedarf Kontakt zu einem Sportverein in ihrer Nähe aufnehmen können. Entstanden ist der Sportatlas beim Kreissportbund im Rahmen des Bundesprogramms “Integration durch Sport”. Für den KSB war es wichtig, eine Art “Gelbe Seiten” der heimischen Sportvereine zu entwickeln. Diese Gelben Seiten sollen Suchenden selbst und Helfer:innen, die im Integrationsbereich arbeiten, eine Unterstützung bieten.

The sports atlas lists all the sports organized by professional sports associations in the district. It is arranged according to the sports offerings in the respective municipality and thus provides a good initial overview.
The information and sports of the 442 clubs have been written not only in German, but also in English and French, so that also non-German-speaking sports enthusiasts can quickly find their way around and, if necessary, contact a sports club in their area. The sports atlas was developed at the district sports association as part of the federal "Integration through Sport" program. For the discrict sports association, it was important to develop a kind of "yellow pages" of the local sports clubs. These Yellow Pages are intended to provide support to seekers themselves and to helpers working in the field of integration.
